The Solar Rickshaw is being developed to carry one driver and two passengers around the crowded streets of central London. The rickshaw is being designed with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions in the city by up to 2 tonnes per vehicle per year, compared to a diesel fuelled vehicle of similar size.

The driver has to pedal with much less force than on a traditional rickshaw. The solar generator will create 75% of the power needed, allowing the Solar Rickshaw to be driven by anyone, not just athletes, making it a functional form of transport.

Length: 3.5m
Speed: up to 20mph
Price: approx £ 4000
(currently waiting for development partner to create sustainable quantities)
